What is Brown Rice Syrup?
Rice Syrup, also known as Brown Rice Syrup, Rice Malt Syrup, or simply Glucose Syrup, is a vegan and gluten-free functional sweetener used in a variety of applications. Yahas Global offers two types of Rice Syrup: Brown Rice Syrup and Clarified Rice Syrup. The Brown Rice Syrup has a caramel to light amber color and is made from brown rice, while the Clarified Rice Syrup, made from white rice, is pale in color. What makes rice syrup an excellent sugar alternative is its light, buttery texture and honey-like flavor.
Rice Syrup is produced by fermenting Rice Flour with non-GMO enzymes, which break down the natural starches into a blend of simple and complex carbohydrates. The mixture is then filtered to remove solids from the liquid. After filtering, the liquid is boiled to evaporate moisture, resulting in a thick, viscous syrup.
Due to its smooth consistency, our brown rice syrup is simple, clean, and versatile for various applications in both food and beverages. Some additional common uses of rice syrup include:
